Re: Snow scenes...

Threw everything at it (vector simplication, Impressionist, Paint Engine, lots of things) to get the result. Not as happy as I wanted it to be, but the clicks had to stop somewhere.

Here's the full, high quality version (attached is a 52% quality crop).

Re: Snow scenes...

Used an action I found on this site to turn it into a painting, then changed the colors to give it more of an evening style. Not totally satisfied with it, but I only spent a couple of minutes on it.

Re: Snow scenes...

Mr Who, very nice posting.
I sort of used the idea.

Patricia, I'm sure that once you get used to Rebel you won't have a reason to get confused as you would not use other cameras. Color noise for Panasonic is sort of known problem, it gets fairly noticeable at high ISO settings. Apart from that it is a very good camera.

Re: Snow scenes...

peter,

well, you dont have to wear a tie. i just want a more precise, step by step of what you're doing. you did mention somewhere the rough steps and if it's something you'd rather keep proprietary, that's fine also. but laziness or 'i dont know how' or 'i'm not very good at that' will not be allowed as excuses

Sorry about the late reply, I watched a movie (12 monkeys, pretty good) and then went to work. The action itself is called Amateur Painter, it comes in a pack you get from here You have to pay for it (it comes with more actions, and there are some free ones), but considering all that you get I think it's worth it. Glad you liked it

Re: Snow scenes...

Lyle...Think you stopped clicking at the right time.....it tuned out great!!!

MrWho...Really like the effect your action gave the photo...

Pavel....This is a nice moody one....would look great poster size!!!
If the photos you have posted here are from your Panosonic then indeed it takes very nice shots...I always have a camera with me....but when going into Stockholm shopping alone it will be a small one...as in this day and age sadly...one could get mugged!!!!

Craig...You are welcome and if you want to play with any in FF...please do!!!

Patricia....

Palms, didn't pay close attention to the rendition first time around, now I have the same feeling, the more I look at it, the more I like the pic. Looks sort of threatening, though, probably dark trees...

Pavel

P.S. Is that AHB?
