Charles

AHB=Art History Brush in Photoshop. The ability to set a moment in the workflow then go back and paint from that state.

Re: Peace...

Hi all,

Palms... wow and wow! I love your first interpretion... the one you did with the AHB brush. Absolutely beautiful work!

How did you achieve the background? It has that lovely watercolour wash of strokes on white effect.

Cheers,
Sherry

(I am so! I am a John Lovett / Joseph Zbrukvic wannabee... digitally, of course. Real brushes and paints have become my enemy.)

Photoshop CS2

Thank you sunfly praise is always gratefully received and enjoyed ( in a smug conceited way of course well till someone brings you back down to earth !)

Now how i did the background, First i do the ahb work then save, reopen the image > new layer > fill with colour if wanted ( used white on the rose ) >

select the history brush at about 45% opacity, size about 75 and "bring" back the picture, holding your mouse button down go over in one sweep ( no overlapping brush marks) missing bits out at the edges then repeat until you get the depth wanted i usually do it 3 to 4 times
different brushes give different effects now unfortunately i cant remember which brush i used for this but it was probably from the natural brush2 set

hope you have been able to follow this any problems just ask

Palms

Re: Peace...

Palms... thanks for describing how you did it. You have kindly saved me many hours of not-so-quietly grumbling to myself. I am going to give it a whirl this morning.

There is never a late Patricia. I'm so glad you posted. The renditions you made of the peace rose are stunning. Great work.

Re: Peace...

Barbara, your work in Gimp never ceases to amaze me. You are quite the master. I love the soft feel of the rose.

Patricia, what do I say? Your work is always top notch. You made the rose into superb artwork.

I enjoyed them both.

Janet
