Gertrudis - options on where to purchase

Those of you who have purchased Gertrudis Pro --- have you found it anywhere other than their website? And if you did order it from then did you feel like it was a secure transaction? Amazon doesn't have the Gertrudis software and I like dealing with them. Thanks

Although I've not purchased Gertrudis, it's been around for a few years. In the five + years I've been surfing various digital art forums like this one, I have never seen a report by anyone having problems with or feeling uneasy about purchasing from their site.

Also, you can purchase by phone with a credit card. A little more secure than posting on a strange site. 1-800-903-4152 is the Share-it number.

Well after using the free download for a little while I decided to go ahead and purchase the full package. I got it from Share-it like you all talked about. Was surprised to find out it was downloadable software with a key to use to unlock it. However after downloading I can't open the program -- I get a message stating an error in unpacking LP5 and contact author so now I am waiting for a response. Anyone ever get that message?

Lousy luck on this one. These self-service downloads usually work pretty good.

If something like this happened to me I would do a Google search on the exact message text to see if the same problem has been reported/solved elsewhere.

That IS a weird one. If you check with the author, they are very good at Gertrudis Pro about resolving problems.

The problem no doubt is in my system -- I downloaded the program onto my laptop and had no problem at all opening it. I copied it to a CD from my laptop and tried to use it on my PC and same problem so must be my system problem. Don't know where to start troubleshooting program. get an error saying -- access violation at 0x7CB024E0(tried to write to 0x00040CFC), program terminated. Any computer geniuses out there that can help out?
Gertrudis has been patient and has offered to send me a hard copy of the program if needed so they have been most helpful. So using the program on my laptop ( not my first choice) and so far I feel it's a great program and well worth the money spent. ($67.00) LAter I will write and wnat ot ask about copywrite issues on pitures that I have taken and now want to run in Gertrudis and possibly sell. They are my pictures but what if they are of a public monument or a house say like Mount Vernon. Don't really need to be addressing those issues right now.

Not a computer genius by any stretch, but here's some info that might help...

Lots of hits by Googling (include the quotation marks):

"access violation at" "tried to write to" "program terminated"

Did not have time to research, but at least you are not the first to report these symptoms = higher likelihood of it already have been diagnosed.

Try doing the same search, nose around and see what you come up with.

I purchased mine in 2005 , thru Gertrudis website. I didn't have any problems.

Thanks to all that have steered me inthe direction of where to purchase Gertrudis software. I finally did order it from Share-it and it was a download type purchase nothing to wait for to come in the mail. I have been very pleased with the results using this program and I see great potential in it. People that have seen my pictures have really liked them and I'm just a novice. Still trying to develop my own style but just having a blast using it. Will come later and give better critque after more experience is gained.
