Re: Pictures from Meribel

Nice one Patricia.

Kinda reminds me of the "Painting by numbers" kits I did as a kid, except mine never came out that good, and were never worth framing. Still they kept me occupied for hours, and I still remember them with fondness.

Thanks for the links.

Re: Pictures from Meribel

patricia,

i've been using filter forge for HDR. i can actually make my own lighting environments with it. in fact, i used one of your snowy pictures as an environment. i called it 'pat's snow 1'

Yeah Steve, that's another one that pushes the buttons for me. I think the 1st one is still my favourite though.

Re: Pictures from Meribel

and another interesting one, peter. i'm not sure i like the distortion on your trees, but the rest looks good. and i like the slightly lowered saturation as well. it works on this image.

Re: Pictures from Meribel

Another good one Peter.

Craig, that looks exactly like what I saw after a few too many vin-chauds and vodka-caramels one day aprés-ski.

Re: Pictures from Meribel

gary,

it wasnt quite what i really wanted to do with the 'snow melting'. what i wanted was to create something like if the emulsion of the print was melting and all running down and clumping up, but i couldnt quite figure out how to get that look. so, i settled for a warp.

You can work on some photos all day and still not get anything interesting. Then there are these.

Thanks much.
