What was your first Digital Project?

I was looking back through some old files and discovered my very first Photoshop Art project. I had used PS for years, but only to scan and color correct for prepress purposes etc. Boy, have I learned a lot since then. The creation date on this file was 4/10/99 and it was my first attempt at anything creative or requiring masks or layers.

What was your first art project?

Re: What was your first Digital Project?

Haven't brought this one out in a while. This one was the first painting that I ever digitally done while using Windows 3.1 with a CGA monitor and used the defacto Windows Paint program. Don't know why, but I'm still proud of this little painting. At the time, this 640X480 image was actually the size of the resolution of the monitor that I was using. lol

PS: Saved as PNG to keep the 16 color aspects of the image. It's a paint of me fishing with my imaginary dog. The car was my Geo Metro (my first car and it is sorely missed; gave it to my brother as a wedding present and it was trashed due to a car accident that was not my brother's fault, but the poor Geo was not salvageable; fortunately no one was hurt).

gholmes1936, Was there supposed to be an attachment with that?

Nancy, How FUN! What a wonderful introduction at age 11. It's a real shame that so many schools are cutting back on art and music classes. I don't think young children can get enough exposure to either in their early years.

Re: What was your first Digital Project?

I have tried repeatedly to attach two images to my reply. But nothing works. I have never had this problem before. Never had any problems with the forums or the web site before. SIGH!

My first digital project I believe occurred with my first digital Camera. I had used PhotoShop for years all the way back to PhotoShop 2. Here is my first digital effort and the original it came from.

The problem is this! I had already posted both images in another Forum and so I had to find out the hard way that I have to use html coding and this venues method of linking images and pages.

Here then are the links.

Re: What was your first Digital Project?

gholmes... Could be the file(s) are too big? There is a 100K limit. If you use the Save for Web option out of Photoshop, you can adjust the deminsioins and file size of your work. Hope you can get it figured out 'cause I would love to see your "first child".

Re: What was your first Digital Project?

Pre-Windows, pre-Mac, around 1975 or so... I used characters keyed into a deck of IBM "punch cards" to create a 16-month calendar printed on what was probably 16"x20" computer paper, the kind that had perforated edges.

The message above the calendar was...

I LOVE YOU

365 Days a Year

...and Don't You Forget It!

-----------------------------------------------

[calendar went here]

I sold a boatload of them at Valentine's Day for a quarter dollar each. It took a LONG time to keypunch those cards (2 per line) to cover the 120 characters per line.

Danny, no wonder when the Air Force first went digital there were a few folks that thought they'd dies and gone to heaven when they got there 2 million dollar paycheck, instead of $200.00!
