Rose Art

Good day all. Here is something new I am working on. Its a combination of several techniques I have learned. What do you think? Is it worth keeping and developing the technique? Thanks for your comments......

Re: Rose Art

rab... Welcome to RTP!

Very nice rose, but it seems kind of flat. More contrast perhaps?

I added a small S Curve

Yes, WELCOME and thanks for sharing you work.

I like the results luminosity and texture-wise. IMO a color version would have more appeal if your intent is to market your handiwork.

Thanks for the welcome from both of you. I never figured on being able to market my stuff, I just do it for fun. The color version does look nice too and it has more depth, but I have this problem with B & W images......I cant seem to stop making them.

Although BW is my favorite format when it comes to photos, I haven't had much luck getting an "arty" BW look I'm happy with.

Your results are most impressive. I esp. like the subtle texturing. If you're shooting for a soft and subtle look, misssion definitely accomplished.

Like Swampy I'd vote for more contrast (perhaps to the extreme) to distinguish the subject from the BG. But that's just me. Since you're creating for your own enjoyment, in the big scheme of things it's your opinion that counts the most!

Hope to see more of your creations in the future.
