Enterprising Thief

We DO have a problem with squirrels where we live. Have lots of fun with this one and give the brazen little beastie something spunky to match his personality.

As an aside, my computer was recently rebuilt and my monitor hasn't yet been calibrated. Feel free to tweak the colors.

Re: Enterprising Thief

Hey Janet. My dad and I actually drive 20 miles round trip to a nut seller to get squirrel approved pecans (i.e., not quite a high enough quality for people consumption, but my dad would disagree; lol). He feeds them daily and every day tells me how chubby they are getting (he feeds the birds too).

Really enjoyed working on this capture; vertical watercolor strokes using all filters (well, some selective erase throughs, but no smudging). Used Flaming Pear's Mr. Contrast to start things off. Then Xero's Supersmooth filter and Carravagio filters with a blend of Xero's Artifacts filter. Also added GIMP's (yes, did it all in GIMP) despeckle filter too (makes a good watercolor in its own right, but when blended with the above, well, you all be the judge). Did a final saturation with a blend of DCSpecial's 1969 filter.

Re: Enterprising Thief

Way cool, Lyle and Palms.

I especially like the BW version.

For the record, I like squirrels as well. They do, however, play havoc with my cats through the window screens.
