Here's my attempt at a sketch.

How can you not respond to this great portrait? This is my soft sketch of this young girl. You all have done great sketches.

i like that --- quite a contrast to my softer sketch. I'll have to see if I can achieve that graphite look myself.

My version of a pencil sketch

Converted to CMYK and Used the Cyan Channel to create a new document as a grayscale. Did a little dodge and burn. Took to Painter and ran some pencil auto clones. Back to Photoshop and added linen texture.

really love the softness of the sketch. Have been trying to get mine that soft. would you share how you did this?

Try using the tutorial at www.dphclub.com/tutorials/sketch-2.htm

it is called the photoshop sketch effect tutorial- classical sketch technique.

Just try it a few times and you'll get the hang of how much to reveal when using the glaussian blur.
