Hi Rab3rd mixed feelings on these the dog seems maybe a bit too soft , and the eyes too prominent, as they are with the cats, but the difference being i think they work very well with the cats and is by far the better of the two and i really like it , ( there again i am a cat person ) which software do you use i guess painter ?

I gotta agree with Palms. Too much contrast in soft and hard techniques.

Thanks, for the comments. Really just trying to develope my own "style" if you will. On the very steep part of the learning curve. Palms I use PSCS2.

Rab3rd do you use seperate layers ? that way if you do the eyes on a seperate layer you can reduce opacity, or use blendmodes etc. Just a thought

If I feel like spending the time I do, but on these I didnt. They were just quick works to kill a little time. Here are a couple more....

Both are nice Rab3rd, know what you mean about the time thing, only problem is when i do quick ones they are usually the better ones and i end up wishing i had used layers

Smudging is a tough skill to master. You're doing a fine job climbing the learning curve.

I much prefer this interpretation that includes a little detail.

While it appears you like using animals as subjects (nothing wrong with that), try applying your technique on a couple kid closeups. I'll bet moms, grandmas, etc. would gush with delight.

another nice one Rab3rd ( it also happens to be my one of favorite breed's of cats we had one just like this her name was smoky ) may i ask which brush you are using ? i tend to use sarsa's hair brush on animals

Thanks Danny, if I had any kids thats all I would be painting I'm sure. I find that humans are eaier to do than animals for some reason. He is one of a human I did. Not my picture, a friend took the shot. I dont seem to take many photos of people for some reason.

Thanks, I dont mind you asking. I am using a custom brush that came with Brad Buttry's how to DVD's. I was using a hair brush at first but didnt really like the effect for cats. I like the hair brush for stuffed animals though.
