John, Yours has a "puffy texture" feel to it that is very unique.

Thanks Swampy...I think,
"Puffy" has a slightly different meaning over here
I put on a little "emboss" layer in the impressionist control panel.
It's gonna take some time to figure out how much this plugin will do tho'. Playing with your "plaza" pic now.

Thank you Swampy, the culprit is a background brush i downloaded from here

using the art history brush it makes great backgrounds using the colours from the image

Palms... the combination of "a-l" is my bug-a-boo. A real dear friend of mine's (now passed away) last name was Palmer. I ALWAYS mistyped it Plamer. So I just started calling him Mark Plamer... LOL

You need more Grapes Swampy.

I used ImageJ and Image Quilter tiling filter (some additional fixing in GIMP) to create the pseudo-random tiling. Here's the complete rendering; attached is a very low quality small crop to keep Danny happy. For additional links, please click this thread.
