Sky/Sea

I have noticed while surfing some art sites that they use the sky and the sea a lot, So i wondered if any one here was up to a sort of challenge to come up with a piece of art using either one or both subjects. In any style

I have posted some from my albums but dont feel you have to use them, use your own or stock ones, just post the originals alongside

And just incase you need inspiration have a look here there is loads of it

Yeah, well an Oak just didn't seem to work, then I thought a Beach (oops sorry Beech) but that didn't go either, so what more appropriate than a Palm, [silken tongue mode]which goes so well with all things artistic[/silken tongue mode].

Re: Sky/Sea

Nice one Pavel.

Watch out for that first step when you turn right out of the doorway, it's a doozy.

Re: Sky/Sea

Palms, nice watercolor painterly. Pavel, awesome HDR type render.

Here's another monotone composite I did awhile back derived primarily from the color photo.

Re: Sky/Sea

Nice image Lonnie, great capture of the surf.

Shame about the concrete breakwater structures in the foreground it kind of holds my eye, I think it would have worked better with a natural rock outcrop, but a nice dramatic treatment all the same.

Re: Sky/Sea

Thank, Gary.

Oh and BTW, I like your palm tree rendition. Adding tree silhouettes is a great technique to add framing and depth to an otherwise stark open scenic.

Re: Sky/Sea

Well I used one of yours Palms.
Not sure where I was going with this, I'm not sure I got there either.
Used all sorts of filters/blend modes and fades- just playing around.
