Re: flowers in vase

Never did one of these, but what the heck.
Ran a action of mine that desaturated in a certain way using the Hue setting on the layer.
Made a low saturation mask and pushed color back in and placed the layer on top.
Used the same mask with a B/W adjustment layer to add contrast. Set the layer to overlay 100%.
Above the base layer I did some custom filter burring and sharpening.

Shattered Asters.

I was still playing around with this image and this came up. Couldn't resist sending it in.
With apologies to all the flower people out there.

No asters were harmed in the making of this picture.

Re: flowers in vase

Flowers are always nice to do and so many techniques to use. I used a pastel style with a little lighting change. Enjoy.

Re: flowers in vase

I’m still practicing with a pencil.
The frame I used from “mypatchesangel.com/pspframes1.htm”

Re: flowers in vase

Nice work, Chillin. I like the frame. Went to the site and discovered they were for PSP. Too bad they couldn't be used with CS3. I would have liked to be able to use a couple of them.

Re: flowers in vase

You could rename the extension to psp, open in PSP & save as a psd.
You could download the PSP demo to do that or tell me which ones you want to be saved as psd's & I'll do it for you.

Still am on my lace binge, so apologies in advance to thoughs who are tired of looking. I attached a low quality crop of the full rendering. Here's the complete rendering (it's seamless by the way).

Glad you liked it saby. I used GIMP's Mosaic filter set to Grain Extract (separating the dark parts for the light using Mehdi's Fine Threshold filter). More details (and some additional samples) can be found here. The one that I did and liked the most thus far is here.
