| | | Craggy Face I haven't posted one for a while. But I found this on my hard drive.
Also there has been a lot of flowers about and what with hay fever and so on, its about time for a change. (nothing personal Palms).
The first is a resized original (to get under the 100k limit).
The second is mine go at it.
No restricitions on the styles you use, of course, anything will do.
The fullsize original can be found here if you wish to use it. [img=http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/2929/xqefw6zg435at0.th.jpg]
A higher res version of my attempt can be found here if you would like to view it. [img=http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/871/weatheredfacehis5.th.jpg]
Have fun

| | | Sort of like lace. Playing with GIMP Mosaic filter set to Grain Extract for some more stitch fun (a happy accident that I recently found). I b/w step involved Mehdi's fine threshold filter and Amphisoft Xylograph filter (for the wavy blacks). Here's the complete high quality version (little over 900K). Attached is a very low quality crop. |

| | | Re: Craggy Face Quite the picture you found there, and what an expression.
I used KentC's "cezanne" preset in impressionist and used the dry brush filter in photoshop for the details. |

| | | Re: Craggy Face Craggy faces like this are a lot of fun to work with.
Anyone familiar with Ivan Albright's paintings will certainly appreciate the look.

| | | Re: Craggy Face nice little 5 min break from my current nightmare!
-black layer @ multiply, like 40% opac.
masked out the areas to bring back highlights, then custom sharpen.
whatever.
--------Actually, i need to work on my lighting a bit, in post......anybody have any tips or advice on that??

| | | Re: Craggy Face i think i have more trouble with the shots that are very flat and closely cropped to the face.
the ones that really dont give any info on light direction and stuff. then when you go to open it up and play with highlights and shadows, and add contour, thats where things can get tricky.
sometimes i think too much on images, and that throws me off a bit.
i know how light and shadow work with one another, maybe the hard part is knowing where to apply it and when you're gping overboard. |

| | | Re: Craggy Face All nice ones you guys.
I was so impressed with the B&W ones I thought I'd have a try myself, but slightly different.
