Snake snacks on frog

Eewyuck! I hate snakes! But when I was working in the yard and saw this guy eating a frog, I did something to him and he let the frog go. By the time I ran into the house to get my camera and came back to him, only the back end and one of the frog's legs was hanging out of the snake's mouth.

Like I said, I don't like snakes because I'm scared of them but I wanted to get a picture of this guy so that I could maybe identify it. I still don't know what kind of snake it is, but I do know that it's not a rattler, have seen them close up and personal when I lived in Arizona.

For my version, I used some posterized edges, impressionist and some "snake" texture.

Re: Snake snacks on frog

That's a Garter snake, very harmless and very common here in Florida (U.S.)

Guess we will never know what kind of frog that is...(was.)

Re: Snake snacks on frog

Thanks for the snake info, Steve. I was hoping for that answer.

Palms, I always look forward to your artistic renderings and I am so happy that you gave this one a shot. As always, very nicely done.

Re: Snake snacks on frog

Probably can't reconstruct how I got here - wanted to make the snake and his lunch stand out and just fiddled until it happened.

Re: Snake snacks on frog

Carole, you definitely achieved your objective. I think that I can even see the direction of the snake's eye looking straight at the camera. Well done!
