Re: Waiting for the sunrise

The one by lkroll is really nice. You can almost feel the heavy paint texture that makes up the painting. For mine I added a little more fog and did a oil paint effect, then converted BW square format.

Re: Waiting for the sunrise

Had to try this one.
Used Topaz Adjust, and a number of "Artistic Filters" in CS4.

Re: Waiting for the sunrise

I wanted to created that navy blue you see at twilight. Used Xero (which I'd taken off my laptop to make room for Christmas pictures - but realized that I couldn't live without "tweaker" so I've reinstalled it).

Re: Waiting for the sunrise

I had forgotten all about this picture being posted here for art. I'm so glad it was resurrected. The bar has been raised. Nice work all. Thanks for playing.

Re: Waiting for the sunrise

Very nice the everyone.

Joe I liked the way you kept the softness of the mist, its very present in the image, also the way you simpified the rest of the image to match.

Re: Waiting for the sunrise

had another go at this. first a little prep work in psp, then a bit of filter forge with an impressionist filter. then back to psp for a minor touch-up.

Re: Waiting for the sunrise

It's been nearly 5 years since I last visited this thread; glad to see it come back. Felt the bright was too much so darkened it for this result (some help from Buzz).

Re: Waiting for the sunrise

Nice composition, Janet, I like they way the rocks and river draw the eye into the pic.

I tweeked the colour slightly and made a series of blends to increase the contrast and separate out the different elements to give the pic some depth. Then I applied the watercolour and pallette knife filters.
