| | | Waiting for the sunrise While waiting for the sunrise on the Steel Creek access to the Buffalo River this morning (and freezing my fingers into unusable stubs), I shot the fog rising off the river.
The picture is straight out of the camera. Your challenge, should you accept it, is to fix it up, then paint it to your liking. Beware, the fog plays havoc with the settings. Enjoy.

| | | Wow; what a capture Janet. Still perfecting my GIMPressionist oil technique. The trick is the blending of canvas and rendering (selective erasing) to give it the desired dimension. Added some Dynamic Range enhancements (via a Script-fu) as well as some Tone-mapping blends. |

| | | Re: Waiting for the sunrise Ikroll, your efforts are really bearing fruit. I would love to learn more on how you are achieving this excellent effect.
Janet, nice photo and fine work on your interpretation.

AHB and HB. I thought this just begged for a soft watercolor treatment. |

Ahh Gee Thanks. Blush. I'll spin the wool. Seriously, the gloves just make it harder to work the controls on the camera and adjust the tripod. But thanks for the sentiment. It is appreciated.
Great work so far on a difficult photo. Let's see some more.

| | | Re: Waiting for the sunrise Thanks for the comments Alan. Sort of outlined the technique here (but I keep forgetting to add that I also used Bumpmap filter). |

Did mine in PainterX with Den's brushes. Tune-up and texturing in CS2. |

| | | Re: Waiting for the sunrise I found some mittens at REI that the fingers and thumb pull back to let you do fine work. I always take them with my gear when it might get cold.

| | | Re: Waiting for the sunrise This is my first attempt after installing Leopard. I had to do an "erase and install" so I had to reinstall and configure all my software. What a pain. There was something wrong with my Tiger setup that wouldn't let me do an update. At least I had all my data and stuff on my two external drives. |
