Chrome melt. Been on a metal crave of late. Used Amphisoft's Metalwork II and PS's Chrome (PS 5.5 version works in Irfanview) for this one. Yes, I did my GIMP/Irfanview combo again since currently, that's my flow. Would probably have saved some time using CS2; oh well. lol

Guilded you out another one Palms. Glad that you liked the other one Palms; thought I would try to duplicate the effect again (more for my own benifit then anything). I did omit a step last time; I blended in Retinex before Amphisoft step. Also added a distorted (of the original) reflection to the mix. This time I didn't add a reflection, but I did blend in a brushed Aluminum texture. Here's the complete (600+ K) file; really only see the brushed Aluminum affect when viewed fully.

Re: Fruity lkroll that is sure shiny, i could see a lot of uses for the technique on wedding, anniversary, photos etc OlBaldy i see the metallic theme is catching ? looks like silver running down the pomegranate and it has added a new dimension to a plain glass plate Steve nice image but wrong fruit Palms

OK; glass this time. Almost the same as metal (more subtle on the effects and did not use Chrome; did use Plastic Wrap though). Still lot's of other convolutions and also added Sparkle and other GIMP lighting effects.

Re: Fruity [QUOTE= Steve nice image but wrong fruit Palms[/QUOTE] The Clementine and Tangerine are close cousins. Never had a Clementine, but have eaten many Satsumas. We grow Tangerines and Satumas here in Florida. Here's a squib from a page on the internet. "Tangerines There are different types of tangerines but the most well-known are the Clementine and the Japanese Satsuma. The clergyman Pierre Clement crossed a mandarin and an orange and the result of this lucky crossing was a seedless mandarin with a looser skin, making it easier to peel: the Clementine. The satsuma is a crossing from Japan." Thanks for the nice comments on my play with your photo. Steve C.

Re: Fruity This fruit has been tempting me for days now. Even with all the great interpretations, no one moved it into the realm of renaissance with its dark, moody lighting. I thought I'd try. Even though it didn't measure up to my expectations, here it is. Corrected for color and tone. Added a huge vignette. Fiddled with a couple of filters and blending modes. Created a copy of the whole document, saved the original, then merged the copy. Created a duplicate layer and used the AHB for strokes and a painterly texture Merged visible onto a new layer and sharpened it. Used selections and the selective color adjustment layer to tweak areas that didn't have the right tonal values. Made cracks (although I had trouble with the emboss feature and didn't use it, imagine the cracks embossed a bit as if cracked all the way to the primer). Canvas texture with a mask over areas so the texture is spotty. Janet

Re: Fruity Thanks Janet! Your interpretation actually inspired me to look "outside of the box" and although I didn't end up with anything like yours, it did take me outside of the the box.
