Thanks for the compliment, Janet. It is a beautiful picture to begin with. It was a pleasure to work on.

joe, never meant for you to completely change the background. i really did like it. i just wanted the eagle to stand out a bit more. but, i do like the new one here, too. the trouble i have with the branches as framing is that the branches and the eagle body are pretty much the same color. therefore, the eagle again isnt really standing out any from the branches. so, a slight lightening of the eagle or darkening of the branches seems in order here. or, possibly even removing some of the branches, like the upper one.

but really, i did like your first one!
Hey Craig. I always end up with ten different versions of the same pic. I get what your saying about making the eagle the main focus of the picture. Good call.

Joe

Re: Old Baldy

Lyle, your stitching techniques get better all the time. I'm a little bit distracted by the blank spaces in this one. If you fixed it, it would be a GREAT tapestry.

Craig, very interesting take on the picture. Is this a filter forge thingy?

Mikajomc, I really like this one. It looks almost as if it were painted on fabric.

Joeven, Superb! I love the detail and the treatment a lot.

Dataflow, Yea! Another desert shot. Looks like evening there with the yellow light.

Thanks all for some great inspirations.

Janet

ah, ok

hi janet,

no, not completely. i did a lot of prep work in paint shop pro first, removing branches and i forget what else. then i ran it through a filter forge filter for the washed/watercolor look and then took it back to psp for a tiny bit of post work.

and btw, that's a really nice photo!

You really did a lot of work on it. And I just submitted it pretty much straight out of the camera. Thanks for not only the post process work but for the compliment as well. And not to leave out the others. I can't really take credit for this picture. It was one of those giant blessings that I just happened upon.
