Creative Interpretations: Old West Blacksmith

Our photo group visited "Rawhide", an old West town, and one of interesting shops is the blacksmith. Thought I'd start it off with an illustrated look with a bit of Diffuse Glow added and reduced.

Great photo C.J. I love it and it is worth more than one attempt,
like you i went the illustrated way using dynamic photo then back in ps for a punch action

Great photo to work with, CJ. Thanks for the play.

Used a stock photo of boards and adjusted colors slightly. Did a Fiind Edges and saved as a Pattern then painted back with various opacities with the PST.

Great punched up look, Palms!

Steve, there's a LOT more detail AFTER you worked with it!

Swampy, very nice! Wood burning effect adds to the old west feel!

I haven't been to Rawhide in at least a decade, nice to know it's still there.

Thought an illustration (like many of you have) was in order.

Thanks Alex; I did add a little Xylograph (pretty obvious) to the blend.
