Thanks Alan. I removed the fallen branch and some other branches first. Then I used Vitalys watercolor technique and Fractulis to flatten the edges a bit. Then I used Nik's Color Efex Pro 3 to boost the contrast and play with the colours. This Color Efex program is pretty cool. Lots of options to play with. I really like your pic too. How are you getting those brush strokes in Impressionist? I've been try for months and I can't come up with anything that looks anywhere near a realistic look.

with some difficulty but use the "save for web" function in ps ( sorry not sure what in other software )

Thanks Palms.. but what a pain, I had to reduce the size and use 67 quality in save for web. sheesh! lol Yours all look high quality.
#1 about 5 textures, vignette and blend modes.
#2 just copied and pasted the red channel from number 1, flattened.

I adore this kind of image and could play with it all day. Thank you!

If you got a 67 quality that's pretty good. I've sent in stuff that was as low as 16. Usually any thing above 50 is good. Textures really add to the file size. And they don't have to be painting you can do what ever you want.

Got in on this one years late it seems. Used a bit of Photoshop and then some OnOne Phototools 2.6. choosing the Rembrandt filter.

If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread (as you did here and the other thread ), but also please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links).
