What a picture, really enjoyed doing this one, and so many good posts, too many to single out any one.
Thanks Janet. Do you ever show these to the people??

When I ask permission to take a person's photograph and/or when they sign a release, I always give them a print.

Thanks for the great boost.

Peter, your picture was great. I love the crop and the treatment.

Janet

Re: Old Woman

thanks, janet... i think actually, i like the coat but not the face so much, myself. i got so caught up by the coat that i neglected the rest of it.

lqqker, that is REALLY good! might i ask as to technique?

and i agree with janet, alan, your impressionist skills are good.

i like yours, too, peter.

Re: Old Woman

I think mine is similar to other's plays, but I felt like giving it a try.

Re: Old Woman

Palms, you have outdone yourself. Amazing result. Do tell exactly what you did. I wanna copy.

Bill Frey: I love what you did with the background. It is perfect for this picture. Thank you for giving it that rustic touch.

Bd in pdx: You did well on the woman. The vignette didn't work for me as there was no texture or lines to match the rest of the great job you did on the subject.

Thanks all for playing!

Janet

I feel the need to agree with you Janet, Bill's background is not only fitting but it just looks really, really good behind her! Well done Bill.

Janet Thank you (and Craig)
firstly i used the ahb ( this bit isn't that important any painting style can be used)

then dragged a texture on top of the painting ( sorry i cant be that exact as to which texture I have quite a few ) here is a couple of places for some great free ones ( sometimes i will use a couple it is great how they
effect a image )

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6099168...7601879066377/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/chromat...7603930832464/

changed the blendmode ( again not sure which one but usually it is either multiply, colour burn,or soft light )

Flattened

Dodged and burnt in a few places to highlight so to speak

then used Mike Warrens embossed glow action

hope this sort of makes sense to you,

Palms

Re: Old Woman

Thank you Janet Petty, Kraellin, and bd-in-pdx,

I've been wanting to make a grungy background and thought this picture was a good match to give it a try.

I appreciate you noticing and glad you like it!
