Apple Blossoms

Here is a photo I took today of some apple blossoms. And I also used some filters to try to make it look like a painting.

what do you think, it is kind of small to see the details.

My shot at it.

Kathy, Let me say what a beautiful shot. The perfect shallow depth of field, deep saturation because of the open shadow setting which gave you that great saturation. It all clicked, nice shot!

Don't sell yourself short. That actually looks pretty sweet. I might bump up the contrast a bit, maybe a find a true black and white using curves?

Sweetlight thanks for the complement I'm just practiceing with the new camera I got, and I really like yours it is real dreamy, did you do it with a blur or smudge?

Hi Jim I have used her watercolor tutorial a lot it is neat how it comes out different when you change the brushes. I like yours too.

some clone painting, erasing, air brushing, smudging, edge finding, blend modes, all in Paint Shop Pro xi.

and spring in southeast michigan is often quite gorgeous, so i do understand. i used to live in ann arbor/ypsilanti

Cathy great pic, you inspired me to take a pic of my own Apple Blossoms, I hope you don't mind me posting here, I'm not intending to Hijack the thread at all just wanted to share.

Hi Peter, I don't mind at all, I think yours is great and the flowers are so different than may flowers and leaves. Must be a different verity of apple.
How did you do the painting? it has nice color and brush strokes.

Thanks Cathy, I don't know what variety it is but it gives large cooking apples 4 - 5 inched across, heavy if they land on you, even heavier to carry when cropping them.

This was done with the smudge brush using Trimoons #23 presets in Photoshop.
