Thistle

about a week ago the thistles were in bloom. now, these arent any old common thistles. these things are giants. the plant grows to over seven foot tall. the blooms are quite vivid and they attract honey bees like crazy. unfortunately, they also grow like weeds and will take over a field if left alone, so we have this one patch of about a quarter of an acre that has to be mowed each year or they'd spread out like crazy. but, this year, i got smart and took the camera out the day before the mowing. if you like this one, i'll consider posting some others later on

lyle, that's really, really good! easily one of your best pieces! very van gogh! i dont remember exactly what GREYC is, (a plugin for the gimp?) but you did a really wonderful job here!

That a nice photo Craig, I find it a tad amusing that weeds (or what is classed as weeds) have such beautiful flowers
