Re: Mont-st-Michel, Normandy, France

Gunner, you know me and these street scenes. Can't pass one up. :-)

Ran a cut out filter and saved as a pattern then layed color ground work with AHB and a palette knife brush and ran a Render Lighting Effects (red channel) on this layer. Also added some bevel and emboss and drop shadow to give the rather "impasto" look.

Next new layer I used the PST to restore details to the architectural elements etc. Again a small lighting effect on this layer (red channel).

Thanks, Gunner

Palms, Your cutout is about where I started painting. I'm trying to wean myself off of BUZZ and looking for other ways to simplify a photo. I've been in touch with OnOne Software asking them if they could create a plug-in for PS similar to BUZZ.

I'm interested in why you want to wean yourself off of Buzz.

Re: Mont-st-Michel, Normandy, France

Gunner, BUZZ does not run on my Intel Mac. I have to run Photoshop under Rosetta in order to use it. I've got all this horsepower on my MacPro, and having to run PS under emulation just slows things down. I have other plugins that do not run under Rosetta so it's time to "move on" and find other ways of simplifying photos and take advantage of the speed of my new computer. BUZZ is no longer supported and will never be updated to run as a Universal Binary plug-in.
