Re: Creative Interpretations - Iron Horse

Thanks for another great pick, Swampy. I like what you did with it - and can't believe no one else has tackled it.

I did mine in Painter with a fair amount of pre- and post-futzing in CS2.

Re: Creative Interpretations - Iron Horse

Palms, nice texture play. A certain sooty grittyness that just fits.
Peter, love the color you used.
DC, I like the way the steam just billows in yours.

Toot Toot! :-)

Nice one, Jordan. The only suggestion I have is using the smudge or blur tool to clean up some of the small pixels in the smoke areas that are distracting.

Re: Creative Interpretations - Iron Horse

good picture, swampy and another wonderful watercolor.

i played around in filter forge for quite a while to find something i liked. i knew i wanted something to highlight the black and bring it out more. i finally found a pencil sketch and used that combined with the original in psp xi with a blend mode.

Thanks for the C&C Swampy. I was in a hurry to post and didn't look it over as closely as I should have.

Nice one Craig. I like the shadows on the man, putting the spotlight on the train.

Re: Creative Interpretations - Iron Horse

thanks, jordan

there's a great 'laser print' of a train going through the snow covered mountains that i've always liked. i was trying to get some of the contrast of that great print. what ever happened to 'laser prints'? i always thought they were pretty cool.

Re: Creative Interpretations - Iron Horse

This was a good photo to resurrect, Joe.

I used Akvis Sketch, Topaz Simplify and Adjust, and Photoshop for my version.

Re: Creative Interpretations - Iron Horse

The original pic looks awfully modern - you're not still travelling on them are you? Does it stop at Hogwarts?

Anyhoo, a beautiful looking machine: plenty of detail to draw out and play with.

Thanks for posting it, Swampy (if you're still around).
