Shoshone Falls

Took these of Shoshone falls on vacation. A little history for you all. The falls are 212 feet high. 36 feet higher than Niagara falls and flows over a rim of 900 feet wide. Anyway here are a few links to the pictures and enjoy.

Re: Shoshone Falls

Great falls shots, MTPFamily. I've not painted waterfalls much, but I wanted to add some texture to the bubbling water. Here's my attempt.

PST with texture painted over the water and some rocks areas on a 50% gray layer set to overlay.

Re: Shoshone Falls

An en plein air oil. Dang spray kept fogging up my glasses and contaminating my paints.

Okay, I lied. I used Painter.

mtpfamily, thanks for the play. Great photos.

Re: Shoshone Falls

Thanks for the comments on the pictures. What I have learned from this forum and the tricks to use is how how I was able to capture them the way I did. Although it would have been nice if it was early in the morning and the sun was just hitting the falls. As it was we were risking being out there in a middle of a nasty thunder storm. By the way I love what you all have done to them.
