corn country

in case anyone hadnt guessed by now, i live in the corn belt of the u.s. and, since it's mid-summer here, the corn is up and doing fine.

so, as i was out taking a walk today, i thought i'd take some shots of the area. this one gives you some idea of the agriculture in the area

The main part was created with a blend of Amphisoft's Zylograph filter and DCSpecial's Nylon filter; made it look wavy using AAA's Good Vibration filter. The border was created using GIMP's Spyrograph filter and a technique that creates a Lace stitch which I subtlely blended into the Spyrograph border.

Re: corn country

Maybe one day I can coax the computer to do it all just my clicking one button (you know that would be nirvana for a filter guy like me), but alas, I still have to combine several filters to get the look that I try to achieve (but it's still mainly filters; smudger I'm not).
