Summer Flower

i was out and about the other day and ran into a couple nice areas of flowers. i dont really know what these are, but they bloom for a fairly long time and have a nice flower, coming in whites, pinks/magentas and light violets. the shop came out nicely and thought i'd post it up.

Re: Summer Flower

Another formula for an oil. Supersharpen, GREYC, ICE4, GREYC, ImpressionFX with Paper preset, back into GIMP for Glass Tile set to Desolve and finally Xero's Supersmooth filter. Yes, all filters and layer properties only that were used.

Click here for the complete rendering; attached is just a crop.

Re: Summer Flower

Thanks Craig. Left out one of the most important steps. A blending of DCSpecial's 1969 filter for the enhanced saturation. Pretty obvious that I skipped this step. lol

Re: Summer Flower

Nice pic Craig, I was wondering who would crack first and post a flower. Palms would have been going cold turkey,
Thought I'd try a smudge with a crazy BG.

Re: Summer Flower

my try ---multiple impressionist filters at various opacities and a low opacity glass distortion-- also some color changes
Could it be a type of hybiscus? It the bloom looks like a hybiscus that I have but the leaves are different?

Re: Summer Flower

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. We've had a busy year: my Mother passed away in January, we went to Photoshop World in Orlando in April, and we traveled to Albuquerque in May. I've been working on the pictures we took in Orlando and Albuquerque so I haven't had much time for anything else. I am now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I'll be making more contributions to this site in the future.

The flower is called Rose of Sharon.

Great work all. I'm glad to be back and viewing artwork and photos again.
