Now that's interesting! There is a World War 1 song that was published in London in 1915 called "Smile Smile Smile." (Also known as "Pack up your troubles in your old Kit Bag.")

Part of the lyrics are:
"Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,
And smile, smile, smile,
While you’ve a lucifer to light your fag,
Smile, boys, that’s the style."

That was the first time I ever knew that a "Lucifer" was a match and a "Fag" was a cigarette, (at least in the UK.)

Just playing with GIMP 2.6. Not much changed (except some aggravating changes with the way duplicate layers are handled).

Also added Paint Engine to the mix.

Alex... I never thought of a night scene. Very effective. May I suggest, to make it more "believable" is to add some glow around the two light bulbs.? The vignette lighting is very well done, but two wall lights need some light output.

Swampy... You are absolutely right, for more "believable" it need some glow around the two light bulbs and i saw it but decide to left it unbelievable "surrealistic", just two light spots
