The U.S. baseball playoffs are in progress. One of the teams, the Cubs, play their home games at Wrigley Field (the subject of this thread), which is located in Chicago, Illinois. The Cubs had the best win/loss record of all the teams this year and Chicago fans were highly opptimistic (and perhaps a little over confident) their team would win the championship (the World Series), something this team has not done since 1908.
The Cubs were heavily favored to beat their first round opponent, the Los Angeles Dodgers. But wait: After two games the Cubs are down 0-2 in this best of five series and things don't look good. The attached tongue-in-cheek image
is one of the reasons why they will most likely fall short of their World Series goal yet again: Manny Ramirez. Manny hit a home run in each of the first two games hosted at Wrigley Field.
As a long time Dodger fan I couldn't resist this opportunity to rub it in a little.
That said, it would be great for the game of baseball if the Cubs could rally and win three in a row. But the odds are seriously against that happening.
