I was just making a joke; looks like I might have to put Peter on my infamous s-list.

Very familiar with the Irish Rovers, who had a hit recording of this, but alas I never heard them sing it. In fact I have never heard anyone sing it.

It's a bunch of limericks put together to form the verses. Here's another.........

"Never heard of "Lily The Pink."
Probably not too bad with a drink.
The Rovers sang it with glee,
and though it's still not known to me,
it must be good if they sang it I think."

Written & performed by The Scaffold many years ago (I'm old so I remember the original )
If you can be bothered you can hear it here - http://www.actionext.com/names_s/sca..._the_pink.html - second version down is the one.
Terrible song.
and it's very long.

It is indeed long! I thought it might be a pub song where everyone joins in and makes up or sings a limerick.

Also noticed that my last line doesn't rhyme. Must have been having another frequent senior moment. I'll see if I can make it make sense.
