Question Has anyone used Processing(.org)

I've recently stumbled across this any was wondering if anyone here has ever used it before? I'm interested in learning how to create effects like these:

And more to the point I would like to use the software's interaction to follow the paths of a photo like can be seen here: http://processing.org/exhibition/works/metropop/

Any thoughts or comments welcome.

I didnt use but its Illustrator and a fractal application (Apophysis), I think!
