Re: Creative Interpretations - Arched Bridge Great Pictue Swampy I used Alien Skin Snap Art Oil effect for a base and then used the new ArtWork plugin from Akvis for the brush effect. Also a little sharpenig to bring out the brush stroke. Skip

Ivory carved. Did enough wood, so I thought I would virtually carve some Ivory tusks; saves a lot of elephants that way. Created this pattern using an actually Ivory tusk image.

Re: Creative Interpretations - Arched Bridge nice one, lyle. i'm probably going to do a lot of this one, i like the original so much. so, here's one that came up as a result of looking for something else. there's a lot of psp work here and it was an oddball blending that gave it this final look. the original work was in filter forge, a blend of two different filter effects. edit: what the heck; here's another: Last edited by Kraellin; 11-27-2008 at 07:45 PM.

Re: Creative Interpretations - Arched Bridge Looks like you can carve into things too Craig. Maybe next year I might check into the cheaper version of FF (I like using presets, not creating them).

Re: Creative Interpretations - Arched Bridge lyle, yes, filter forge has a built in height function that also comes with hdri lighting environments. these two combined can produce some very nice 'carved', emboss and other raised or sunken effects. and with your passion for plugins (like mine), i think you'd love filter forge

Re: Creative Interpretations - Arched Bridge nice, OB but, i put all the inspiration in the image itself. there are just some images that are easier to do and that seem to give better results. oh heck, ok, i'll take a little credit. thanks

Re: Creative Interpretations - Arched Bridge ok, i got really ambitious today and decided to install Art Rage 2, the free version. i've had it sitting on my harddrive for a while now, just collecting dust. i'm not going to review the program here, especially since i dont have any other art programs to really compare it to, like Painter or any other. but, i will say i did find it quite interesting and useful. it's a bit primitive, but i'm also using the free version which has some of the features cut. i dont like everything about it, but there's certainly some things i do, like the palette knife. i've been wanting a tool like this for a while and that's what i did this rendition in, the knife. fun stuff so, be gentle, this is a first attempt at using this program and this tool
