| Hi all I'm new to Photoshop, and am currently using Elements (6). I've seen some nice work where photos are given a realistic painted feel. Can anyone tell me whether that sort of thing is achievable in Elements or whether I'd need to upgrade to the full PS version? BTW - I've been in photography for > 20 years (off and on) and although there's some good stuff out there, I've been bowled-over by the great work (and there's loads of it) on this site! Cheers all. | Re: Paint Effects in PSE6 Hi nadger welcome to RetouchPRO. I use photoshop elements 2 and find many different artistic effects to add to a photo. Check out the tutorials and challenges under photo-art for examples and help. I find two plug-ins to be of great value giving much greater options ... they are optikVerve Labs Virtual Photographer and Impressionist. There are many plug-ins for Impressionist made by the people on this site that you will find very useful. You can find the Impressionist filter on Stephen LeQuier's aka Trimoon web site. | Re: Paint Effects in PSE6 To my knowledge the artistic type filters in Elements are the same as the ones that come in Photoshop, so there's no PS advantage there. Send me an e-mail (click my name above) and I will get you started with the Impressionist plugin with which one can achieve some very artistic results. |
