Re: All the pain in the world...

Amica, that reminds me of an older Sir Walter Raleigh.. Nice!
Peter, Outstanding, Superb, Mighty Fine, Great Job! Oh Yea, I forgot to say.. I like it!
Craig, looks like a great new cover for a Pirate comic.. Arrgh G B! The sand dune pirate.

I saw the pained look on this fellows face and thought he might have said, " That rapscallion threw my shoes instead of his own.. Now I have no shoes.. Oh, the agony of da feet!"

Re: All the pain in the world...

Thank you all. I liked the expression of his face...Right after posting though I noticed that it came out a little too yellow :-(

Peter, now that looks sinister, like the bad guy from 1001-nights. Nice mood change. Like it. Especially as you toned down the bg, which I regrettably didn't do...

Craig, I am not soo much a fan of comic book-style, but it fits on this pic nicely.

OB, is that plastic wrap? smiles_at_the_shoes_hint :-)

Lyle, like that one, somehow I have the suspect that it's not your last one :-)

Re: All the pain in the world...

Nope not plastic wrap just some things I throw together trying to make something that resembles a bold relief Barbie doll look but have not got it figured out yet so y'all have to suffer my trials and errors.

Re: All the pain in the world...

Awww, OB, don't be so harsh on yourself! Until you refined your style you can at least say that you have improved the plastic wrap :-)

Re: All the pain in the world...

Kilty560,

Nice retouch. I also enjoy a "hard" retouch. Black and white was a great choice for this image, and it shows in the range of value. You brought out a lot of nice detail that was getting lost due to similar color ranges being close in proximity. The subject now looks as weathered as his emotion is showing. Kudos!

Here's my quick take on it. 95% of the editing done in CameraRaw. Quick rotate and vignette in Photoshop.
