thanks, amica. yes, i like the 2nd better also.

dan, i look at that last one and go, 'i shldnt like that.' ... and yet i do. it reminds me of a style i've seen but just cant remember now; one of the impressionists, i think.

Re: Heard you calling for it :)

Amica and Craig, Thanks for the comments!
Craig, for the background I used Impressionist (Stamp>Dry Rag) and for other elements I used Painter.

Re: Heard you calling for it :)

Added a new version of the darkest shot using a new program in Beta, called Ruyi from Imaging Luminaries. It's a tonemapping program that helps to expand the tonal range of a single JPG in HDR-like fashion. It's REALLY FAST and pretty slick.

Link to Beta on this page: (expires 10 March 2009)
http://imagingluminary.org/support/i...pic,221.0.html

Steps:
1. Ruyi TMO
2. Topaz Adjust for simplify
3. Alien Skin SnapArt

There's a pic for each step.

Looks great, Dean and thanks for sharing the link. I will look at the product details first, though.
