Lots of colors, action and detail. Have fun!

I simplified mine with Topaz, added a texture map and saved as a pattern. (I reduced the opacity of the pattern layer to 50% and used that as my canvas.) Used a stipple style brush for the Pattern Stamp Tool and added bevel/emboss and drop shadow layer styles to the individual painted layers for added brush stroke textures.

hi lyle,

uhmm... it started out as a duplicate background, blur that one and set to 'darken' blend mode. from there, i forget what i did... maybe a posterize filter... not sure. but that only took me so far. it was still quite noisy and busy and i wanted to simplify it more. so, on a blank layer, i used 'push' to get rid of a lot of the small detail/noise. that took quite a while. the whole was done over several days, which is why i dont recall the early steps so much
