Re: Cuban Car

Thank you Sylvia and Gerry

i used buzz and the palette knife stack but took out the embossing ( dont know why i took it out, just tried it with it left in and cant see much difference )

made a sketch layer and set to softlight flattened

then used one of my own settings in topaz adjust

followed by a warming curves adjustment layer that i have as well

i expect that topaz simplify could be used instead of buzz or lucis instead of adjust,

hope this helps you Gerry

Re: Cuban Car

Thanks for the info, Palms. I have a Mac so I looked up Buzz.X and cannot find a place to download it. I'd like to get a demo to try it out first so I'll keep looking. If you know of a site where I can get it, I'd appreciate you letting me know.

Re: Cuban Car

Gerry,
You can't get Buzz anymore, they're out of business. Try Topaz Simplify as an (excellent !!) alternative.

That's good to know. I had no idea it was legal to put it on one's site. Thanks for the update, OlBaldy

Re: Cuban Car

What a "find" this photo is.
Didn't do too much, changed car color to red (matches Bike), and just used CS2 filter gallery, let's see, grain, accented edges and one more...? Sorry, I forgot.

Very enjoyable.

Thank you, Veralisa, did that one soo long ago, certainly not monochrome and no Buzz, as it was not available back than...If I remember well it was based on a sketch (DO check out Palms Sketch action: http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/blo...ch-action.html, Thanks again, Palms, comes in so handy), put the original layer on top and set blend mode to color, lower opacity and - not sure about that anymore maybe a selective color adj. (I had to look at it ) I used a dose of fractalius http://www.redfieldplugins.com/filterFractalius.htm ..an appreciated gem if not used extensively

I really appreciate your kind words...but outstanding: No! A trial_and_error_game, some look good...many don't. Still learning: BUT I post anyway

Thank you! I'm just learning painter and figuring out the brushes. I used the soft clone brush first, then a layer with the fine spray clone brush and finally the car on the top layer with the wet oil clone brush.

I like the springtime feel of your picture.

It's a great image to work with, and I wish you success at learning painter. I just play with Photoshop, but lack the drive and talent to do real digital art. Hope you find Painter to be a way to use your creativity!
