Interesting looks, Lyle...I like the first a little better, as on the second I noticed that the original structure of the desk does not fit with the background wood, I would have erased those lines

Thanks for the comments. To crazyfly1, I found a cool way to create the outlines using an Opensource bitmap to vector tracer called Linetracer. I feed that result into GIMP and run various layer property blends and bumpmap filters to get the woodcut result. The result from Linetracer can also make a cool Picasso like sketch effect too.

i've got about 30 versions of that one filter currently. i've been trying to get it more and more as an oil impressionist filter. that particular render was done with a fairly early version. and just in case anyone's interested, you can see some of the development of the filter here: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/rea...995&PAGEN_1=54 .
