Well why not some delicately carved eggs too. Just borrowing from what I figured out how to do last year.

wow absolotely stunning eggs have been posted while i have been sleeping

shari they are fabulous and what a great experiment i will have to give that a try

Peter brilliant I hope your daughter had some fun, i was hoping that we could get some of our children involved with this one (hope you have got her a real egg this weekend, by real i do mean a chocolate one )

Janet stunning they really resemble marble and love the colours

Lyle dont worry i thought foil wrapped real eggs straight away, your others are superb as well especially the carved ones.

Thank you Palms. All three of the eggs were done with displacement maps. That helped bend the pattern to the shape of the egg.

The patterns are clockwise from left to right: An aerial view of the plains during a flyover; burned metal (after a fire); dyed mohair from an angora goat.
