Opinions please: Bird pix - good for photo-art??? with lots to read & learn yet... but I would like to start out with asking about images other then Portriats (although I for sure want to do good portraits one day) I have spent the last few years shooting alot of wildlife... mostly ducks & birds and a couple years ago I even recorded a year in the life of an pair of Osprey... so I have tons of images... LOL I will just throw up a couple images here that I have on the ext. drive I have up right now... I appreciate knowing if you think these can make great photo art & any info & tips you have for me... thank you in advance for any help you take time to give...

Re: Opinions please: Bird pix - good for photo-art Welcome to RetouchPro, JA: I took the liberty of moving/retitling your thread for better visibility. Wonderful photos, for openers. Much easier to make appealing art when you have excellent photos to work from. Are you asking from a personal/non-commericial perspective or are you considering this from a selling/make a profit point of view?

Re: Opinions please: Bird pix - good for photo-art A couple sites to check: * http://trimoon.com/ * http://asnailpace.com/blog/ Steve (aka Trimoon) is an avid nature photograoger and is one of the pioneers in this photo-art craze. He would be a good person to get in touch with on this particular topic. He's a really nice guy and I am sure he would have some valuable insights.

Re: Opinions please: Bird pix - good for photo-art Wow, a year in the life of osprey, I envy you that. Both are great shots. I like what you did with the owl. Did you sample the background from the bird? I would love to see more birds of prey. At the very least I would think you have the makings of a nice coffee table book.

I have in past years viewed Steve's photography... he has caputured some amazing images... love them! ok here crazyfly is where I have to show that I really am not, really, up on things... gads... not sure what you mean by "Did you sample the background from the bird? I have done some coffee table books... should do more many ask me to but I am so picky on how I want it it takes me forever...LOL more hours then one could ever get selling them... LOL I do have high hopes Danny to one day work more at the art end & have my work be good enough to sell make some kind of profit... but until that time I guess it really is just for me personally... ty both of you for your feedback I appreciate that... |

Re: Opinions please: Bird pix - good for photo-art I mean the brownish tint that clouds the background around the owl. Did you pick the color of that from a color in the birds wing or did you just pick it randomly?
