Cherry and Apple Blossoms

I took these photos last week and I thought you might like to paint them or artify them some how. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Re: Cherry and Apple Bloosoms

Peter that is very pretty, did you smudge it?

It seemed like a slow day on RP, that was why I posted these to play with.

Here is one I did.

Re: Cherry and Apple Bloosoms

Ice4, desat Grain Extract (some adjustements), GREYC (plus Cybia's Colorworks to give that greenish yellow tinge that he's famous for)= Van Gogh

That's my formula anyway for simulating him. Actually work less then 5 minutes, but figuring the layer opacities and such adds a few more to it.

Now if only I can get a simple (and free) formula to sketches (in particular, da Vinci sketches). Guess I need to channel the spirits of the past to give me further insites. lol

Re: Cherry and Apple Bloosoms

OK Cathy. Got too more (of the final flower that I didn't do as of yet). Experimenting with using ASCII-Gen for the Lite-Brite interpretation and if you don't like that one, I added a vector simplication blend of the same bouquet.

Re: Cherry and Apple Bloosoms

Lyle, those a great too, very versified styles you have. The first one looks like it could be used to cross stitch or embroider on a shirt.

Palms - that is SO nice! I love the colors, texture and depth.

I like to take photos of flowers, and I have a redbud tree posted for the photo contest already, it is always hard to decided which the judges will like the best.

Re: Cherry and Apple Bloosoms

Cupcake that is really neat, I like the color.
And I like the details that you added by hand - so many times people use a universal filter over the whole thing.

Re: Cherry and Apple Bloosoms

Thanks, Sponge
I use a preset I made from Topaz Clean 2 - Cartooned.
This result involves other steps too. I'm trying to recreate the result so that I can write a tutorial but it's not easy to remember all the steps...

Very good, i'm thinking of buying some of the topaz products, what do you recommend for mainly creating photo art paintings and sketches?

Re: Cherry and Apple Bloosoms

Hard to say.
My very favorite is Topaz Clean 2, I totally love it. Mind you, I don't use it by itself, I mix other steps.

You can check my FlickR pictures to see examples of what can be done with it:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sylvia_...7618607028694/

Topaz Simplify is really good too, but again I think the pictures need a few manual adjustments before they look hand painted...

Sylvia
PS: I'm going to get busy writing a few tuts for Topaz plug-ins...
