What happened to his "equipment", Amica? I debated about leaving it or not, I see you cloned it out. LOL

Hey Sylvia, which version of Topaz do you recommend for photo art?
I like your smudge effect

Topaz Clean2, definitely. You can see some of my examples on my site:
http://photoart-tutorials.com/Topaz.htm
Both tutorials were written for Topaz Clean2.

Re: Creative Interpretations: Monkey

I agree; really like what Palms did here. Anyway, I recycled my last effort, feeding it into Buzz (oil stick preset) and then running Little Inkpot's Chalkaholic filter to make it all black. I then blending it back in using hardlight and a few other blending tricks to get the Pen and Ink result. Used High compression for posting here, but I think it sort of made it look better (high quality result was more crisp and lighter).

Re: Creative Interpretations: Monkey

Amica it's not a fake smudge it's an action I'm trying to make to mimic the Topaz Clean 2 plug in using only native photoshop filters. Works on pictures of people but not so good on hair and fur yet. Still playing with it.

OK - can't stand it any more. The word nazi in me can no longer be contained. This fellow is NOT a monkey. He's a chimpanzee. They are not interchangeable.

Re: Creative Interpretations: Monkey

Thanks Amica. Came of with this concoction a month or so ago. I run ICE4 filter and then GREYCstoration and then sharpen. I port the result into Linetracer (bitmap to vector convertor) and export the eps file back into GIMP (didn't change GIMPs default settings to 72dpi so the vector resized bigger) and then use filters like GIMP Erode for Mehdi's Fine Threshold (adjust the sliders) to widen the lines. Makes for a Maze like result imo.

Went to a Andy Warhol show yesterday and this chimp rendition is so inspired. Painter pens, real bristle brushes and Photoshop processing. MargaretM

It's okay Lurch. I am with ya girl. Take a deep breath, it's all over now I have my OCD issues too. I want to strangle everyone who shows photos with an off kilter horizon line.....AAARRGGHHH......They even put television ads on that way.
