Re: Creative interpretations - Basilika

On the original, are those the real colors the buildings are painted? Strange looking place, may be the most impractical use of space on the planet.

Version two is a softer.

No min, they are real and you can't even get how beautiful they are but in person.

@ Chris, yours sure is different, I like it
@ Sylvia, what can I say, breathtaking

Re: Creative interpretations - Basilika

As usual Palms blows us away........
I'll try not to let my recent bout of mindlesness cause me to blow any fingers off with explosives today, it's the fourth and I love my boom-booms.
Palms, I don't know if you can guide me through this like everything else lately
ha..
Happy 4th everyone. Even those of you across the big water.

Re: Creative interpretations - Basilika

Thanks Palms,
It's not that I think plug-ins are bad but I am a bit of a traditionalist as far as one can be in PS I guess. I have been meaning to put some in though and this will be the first. Thanks
Lyle is the plug-in man, he's probably dissapointed in me now, haaha. It was my little secret.
I am cross-platform so I'll put it on the puter it belongs on.
Smile.

Re: Creative interpretations - Basilika

No plug-ins? No PLUG-INS???????????? Ouch!!! LOL
Wow, you're missing out on some nice stuff, Sweetlight...

If you're on Windows, you could also get the Impressionist plug-in, it's free.
http://photoart-tutorials.com/downlo...ressionist.zip
unless of course you prefer to hand-cook everything, as you said...

Re: Creative interpretations - Basilika

Yeppers Impressionist is Kewl and you can still 'hand cook' the results by changing almost everything within the plug-in...
How to 'hand cook' in Impressionist is discussed here: Impressionist plugin: Custom styles (member posted)

Hmmm, am I wrong or are all those filters and things shipped with Photoshop sorta like Plug-ins put there to make the traditionalists job a bit easier... me thinks its all a bit of semantics.... go for it Sweetlight... expand those horizons!

My version using traditional filters/plug-ins

I bet that's exactly what it is, the plug-ins must have been added gradually.

Palms, I used some of Sylvia's brushes, background 2, small bristle and hard mechanical - I believe - , but made some heavy adjustments prior with Topaz adjust, added a sketch only from Topaz Simplify

BTW, Sylvia, I love those brushes

Thank you, Amica.

Palms, send me your email and I'll email them to you. I can't attach them here because they're over 200 Kb.

Anyone wants them, send me a PM with your email (before Sunday, as I'll be gone after that).
