Re: Creative Interpretions - Harbour scene

The perspective looks off, strange. Nice colors on the buildings. I made mine more of a dusk-night scene.

Nice Palms, looks like an old albumen print. Love that vignetting, looks like an old lens for sure.
Nice one Steve.

Re: Creative Interpretions - Harbour scene

Thanks for the comments Sweetlight...........Have a ball at the track.

I recommend a few shots from the hump over the tunnel in turn 4.

I don't recommend trying to leave the track by way of the grandstand gate on the front straightaway. Standing on the banking there with all the other photogs will wear out your legs big time.

Of course, I am sure you know all of this........so why am I shooting off my big mouth?

Maybe I will send you some pics of my old dirt track sprint car photos from Plant Field and other Tampa area tracks someday.

Re: Creative Interpretions - Harbour scene

Thanks for the advice Steve. Yeah, I know a bit about it. I grew up in that track, had too many high-school hangovers in the police compound on turn 4, remember dad was one too, 40 years. I get to shoot anywhere I want all the time. I spend a lot of time in the pits with my hot pass but days of the big race turns are distributed by seniority. 4 is great of course but there are a couple of guys with seniority over me which makes me feel less great about Palms having to take me by the hand and guide me everywhere. What in the hell is gonna happen when I am the senior guy. Ha.......I actually have access to the MRN tower in turn three which accounts for most of the NASCAR stuff of mine you see. It's great because I can actually shoot all 4 turns and the whole rear stretch with my 400. Turn 3 turns out to be the sweet spot a lot of times because when weather comes in a lot of times it blows either straight up it or straight down it and those guys coming off turn 2 catch a lot of air which turns them end over end at times.

Sort of a waterfront watercolor (almost)

The second one has the texture-overdose Toned down some... (Trying to placate Amica )

I apologize Palms. This should have been sent as a private message because it does leave out a lot of folks.

It's a reference to automobile racing on short tracks. Mostly they were dirt and not paved. Plant Field was one of these tracks.

I was a regular at this track in my younger days. Alas, it no longer exists. The area is now an athletic field for a university.

Sweetlight works as a photographer at the big paved tracks like Daytona Speedway in Florida.

Sorry about the confusion.

Glad you explain the meaning of these last conversations, Steve, as I had no clue either what you were talking about.
Being non-English native doesn't help either
