Faking an HDR using Gradient Map blends with Gradient Extract layer property in GIMP. Experimental right now (sort of an accident actually). With a few adjustments, you can get a cool Dave Hill look too.

The colors are great. Amica. Just the sort of glow the field takes on just before sunset.

Thank you Shari, although on my desktop the color were more subtle..maybe forgot to convert to srgb before posting, still glad you like it
