Hayfield

The clouds this year are awesome. (the weather isn't)
I thought this shot might be fun for the artists here at RP. Mine is just a couple of layers with the impressionist plug-in.

Re: Hayfield

Looks like a great hayfield. For my version I recomposed, painted the sky, enhanced the detail of the wagons, heavy paint effect to the tree line and the mowed section, light paint effect on the uncut grass.

sharynideas, Nice shot! Thanks for sharing and for the play!

Cropped a little bit then tried to simulated a HDRI effect using a bunch of different filters
Just Photoshop filters for the second one also

Re: Hayfield

Miningart, thanks for posting your workflow. Your painting is just right. I love the subtle colors and the way you cropped it. It is a great hayfield. If I can't live by the sea, then I'll have to settle for the hayfield.

Re: Hayfield

Wow, Olbaldy, you took my picture and made it look like a real photograph in your first offering, so much like the real clouds this year, all moody and dramatic. I can't seem to get that HDRI thing, but I may try it again with your inspiration.

Re: Hayfield

Some pre-processing (mainly to darken the blue sky) before feeding that result into G'MIC Pen and Ink.

Re: Hayfield

Faking an HDR using Gradient Map blends with Gradient Extract layer property in GIMP. Experimental right now (sort of an accident actually). With a few adjustments, you can get a cool Dave Hill look too.

Grant, I don't have the Topaz filters, but do you remember what setting you used in Impressionist?

Re: Hayfield

Palms, nice picture (as always). I love the texture you applied.

Lyle, your first is my favorite. Very Van Gogh!

Re: Hayfield

Nice work by all
Thanks for sharing this nice pic, Shari, I dipped it into some late afternoon sunlight by mixing some result out of DAP and Snap Art.

Re: Hayfield

The colors are great. Amica. Just the sort of glow the field takes on just before sunset.
