creative interpretation - riot of color

This is one of the first 'artsy' picture I shot.

My favorite thing to do is to duplicate the original layer a few times (3x?) and then apply some filters/AHB...it seems to help to reduced the resolution to 72dpi. And then I mask off the filtered layers...by highlights/lowlights or by selecting a channel in the channels palette. Then I mess with opacities and blending and voila! Digital art.

Re: creative interpretation - riot of color

Really great colors. I did your layer repetition using multiply mode three times, tuned to tasted, made a focal point of the green patch, reduced res to 50 at 100% size, used PaintEngine, added an edging. I wasn't able to get the intense colors like you did for this try. Your greens look almost fern like, nice. For the second attempt I tired to follow the LAB stretching at the link, has a little more pop.

MiningArt. Very nice.

You can't get those intense colors in RGB you have to go to LAB;

Using PSPv9 increased saturation. Duplicated layer. Applied watercolor script to top layer. Applied brushstrokes to lower layer. Reduced opacity until it looked good. Applied Levels to adjust gamma and applied Curves to boost contrast.

Super photo to begin with. Thanks for letting me play.

Steve C. - the cool swoopy / swirly lines makes it look like there is a really strong fall breeze.

Re: creative interpretation - riot of color

This was so enjoyable...like the way we felt when we opened a new box of crayolas... oh the scent! Anyway, Denoised first. Buzz Pro secondly. Then, separated into 3 segments and just used a variety of blending layers on each. I decided the white areas were the old patchs of sky, so knocked them out and put all on top of a sky pic. Would have liked to give a stroke to each panel but time ran out tonight. And also would have enjoyed a dash of gold in there. And red.

Wanted the first look to be of blended colors....then to see the leaves.

Thanks for the nice photo. If you haven't already, try shooting with the sun shining through the leaves toward the camera sometime. That makes for a neat effect too.
