Boat In Need of Makeover

The weather has been windy, drippy and generally overcast through Northeast Pennsylvania for the past several weeks. This sailboat practically begs for a makeover and the photo does too. Choppy water & unable to see the LCD for framing gave me this horrid result. I thought it might be fun to paint on a blank canvas. (I've blurred the name & # on the original boat.)

Extreme makeover - nautical edition.

This one needed a lot of AHB and the clone tool. Added some texture. Straightened and cropped. Water texture is mostly PE.

Lyle & Nasturtium... you've turned the boat into art! L, what's your new toy? I love the texture...sort of like mica chips. And N, the color is so absolutely intense, dynamic & almost restorative. BTW, I know this sounds dumb, but what's PE?

Veralisa - not a dumb question at all! PE = Paint Engine. But be forewarned it is very addictive. :-)

Re: Boat In Need of Makeover

Tried to make out the name of the boat, SHESKNOTHERE, ?
Made several tries and finally came up with this. Straightened, cropped, recolored here and there and used paintEngine for a light paint effect. The second version I simplified the first and used PhotoSketcher, watercolor heavy texture.

Re: Boat In Need of Makeover

MiningArt, don't think your eyes were going bad at all... I purposely blurred the boat's name & number on the sail. You can christen it any name you wish! I did that purposely so the owner couldn't be traced and put on a spammer list, or whatever.

Old Baldy...I think the tie-dye is right-on and so cool. As we used to say, Peace, love & rock&roll!

Someday I shall download PE. But not right now. I've had PS CS 4 waiting in the box for two months already. I think I fear installing it because as soon as I do something's going to go wrong.

0lBaldy, cool man, a tie-dyed boat. Now if I can just find a felt painting effect.
