Re: Lone Piper Oh Miss Palms, What a subject indeed. Those pipes and I have a love hate relationship. After too many funerals for too many cops, one of which was my best friend I would nearly go mad hearing the pipes, truly it was pretty bad. I decided to either beat myself over the head with them or make peace so I bought myself a practice chanter and started to learn a bit. I made peace with the pipes but they don't want much to do with me after the practices I put the poor things through. Kinda the sound of a cat in a blender maybe Did you see my new piece I did for the memorial? First image up now at www.flickr.com/photos/sweetlight.

Re: Lone Piper It was just a deviation from my Giger binge Palms. lol I dup, run Wavelet Denoise (a GIMP plugin) that I set to Grain Extract and merge down to get a b/w illustrated look which I then blend back in the color. Extremely easy to do, but for non-GIMPers, hard to explain. I do not know of an equivalent in PS for Grain Extract layer property, but I use is so much (almost every edit, both renders and photographic since it's indispensible for simulating Contrast Mask) that I wish they would port this layer property to PS. At the end, I do add Xero's Supersmooth which sort of both cleans up the rendition and adds some Aniso to boot.

Re: Lone Piper Palms, I used a free program called Photo Filtre for the texture. I don't use it a lot bit it does have a few neat features. It's a standalone -- not a plugin. Fran

Re: Lone Piper Ithink he's sucking, not blowing. The pipes are obviously filled with single malt! Respect to Palms for suffering the noise while taking the photo - what we have to suffer for our hobbies eh..
